With the finish of quarter two for 2022, the Hollywood Roofing Experts can confirm growth compared to quarter one, but a drop off from quarter two of 2021! This drop-off can be attributed because the country had officially moved into an economic recession.
However, looking a bit deeper than the macro conditions of a recession, the great migration of Americans to south Florida has slowed down considerably from last summer. In addition, there has not been as much rain this year as expected, which heavily affects how many people need roofing services.
When combining economic hardship, which may cause homeowners to push off expensive roofing projects, less rain, and a slowdown in new Floridians, it’s not too much of a surprise that the summer of 2022 is a bit slower than the wild summer of 2021.
Abe, a representative of the Hollywood Roofing Experts, said, “Summer is still busy as always, but thinking back to how crazy last summer was and summer of 2022 comparatively so is a breeze. With the Fed raising rates, we see fewer new homebuyers down here. Last year we got many calls from people newly arriving in Florida concerned with their roofs holding up to a hurricane. Many of our calls in recent months are from native or long-standing Floridians.”
Abe also said, “The good thing is we can finish roof replacements quicker now. Usually, during summer, with a hectic schedule and a lot of rain, roofing projects tend to get delayed. We are fully prepared if it begins to rain every day as expected; we’ve added on new roofing crews, salespeople, and a new project manager for this busy summer.”
